Small Town, Big Dreams Scholarship
The Small Town Big Life Scholarship was established through the generous proceeds from the 2025 Ladies Gala: Vogue for a Better World. This annual scholarship is a powerful expression of women empowering women—created by women, for women—with a vision to uplift and invest in the next generation of leaders.
Small Town Big Life Scholarship – $1500
The Small Town Big Life Scholarship celebrates the strength, potential, and ambition of young women in our rural communities—because when women support each other, incredible things happen. Open to female high school graduates aged 17 to 20 from the Drayton Valley–Brazeau County area, the scholarship supports those pursuing post-secondary education, trades, or career training away from home.
Criteria/Procedure for Scholarship Applicants
- Potential candidates must apply for this Scholarship by June 8th of this year.
- It is only available for students who reside in the geographical area of Drayton Valley and Brazeau County. A student’s financial means or ability to pursue further education will also be considered.
- The students must be attending a qualified registered school and must be registered in a qualified University, Secondary College or Trade School. This scholarship is not applicable toward high school upgrading or equivalency courses.
- Acceptance will not be based on school marks; transcripts are still required.
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, employer, mentor, counsellor or coach is required (this cannot be a relative).
- A minimum 250-word essay on the turning point in your life that led you to enrol in school / your current program is required.
- Receipt of the scholarship will be made after the student is registered. The scholarship will be made payable to the applicant’s school.
